Komiža is a small fisherman’s town, about 10 km away from the town of Vis, situated at the foot of the hill Hum (587m) in the south-west of the island of Vis. This town will delight you with its charm, rich cultural history and excellent food.
Among many specialties we single out Komiška Pogača that you just have to try. You should also visit the fisherman’s museum located in the so-called Komuna, a Renaissance tower from the 16th century, as well as numerous churches, particularly Muster - St. Nicholas’s church, built on the top of a hill above Komiža, protecting fishermen and seamen from its heights.
In front of the bay of Komiža there are several islands belonging to the Vis archipelago: Biševo and its famous Blue cave, Svetac – the former habitat of the Mediterranean sea monk, the volcanic islands Jabuka and Brusnik, and many other small islands.
