Humac is a former shepherd’s settlement, situated 7 km east of Jelsa on 350m above the sea level, with a view at the bays and headlands on the west side of the island, but of the island of Brač and Makarska riviera as well.
Established in the 17th century, Humac consists of about sixty abandoned houses. At the beginning of the 20th century St. John and St. Paul’s church was built. Made of stone, well kept, simple, creating a unique entity of rural architecture, these houses are considered to be an ethnographic monument.
There is a theme restaurant in Humac, opened only throughout the summer.
